Aquatic blue foods are critical to building resilient food systems while enhancing livelihoods, improving nutrition, and promoting environmental sustainability. On February 18, 2026, the Aquatic Blue Food Coalition, Environmental Defense India Foundation, and Environmental Defense Fund are hosted the side event, “Blue Foods as a Climate Solution – Practical Approaches to Building Coastal Resilience and Promoting Equity and Nutrition” at the inaugural Mumbai Climate Week. 

This side event highlighted the importance of blue foods as a climate solution and India’s leadership in promoting equitable, low-carbon blue foods. During the moderated panel discussion with expert speakers, the session explored existing solutions, shared lessons learned and best practices, and called attention to the importance of blue foods as a climate solution.
